Perinatal Mental Health

Around 1 in 7 women will experience a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD), with symptoms ranging from mild to severe. These can include anxiety, depression, overwhelming worry, low mood, or intrusive thoughts during pregnancy or after the birth of a baby. If you are experiencing difficulties during the perinatal period, it is important to seek support. Counselling is a highly effective first-line treatment and can provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your experiences, develop coping strategies, and support your emotional wellbeing as you adjust to parenthood.

Parents & Mental Health

Many parents struggle with their mental health as they navigate the ever-changing landscape of parenting. Becoming a parent can transform relationships, shift priorities, and alter the everyday fabric of life. These changes can be both rewarding and challenging, often leaving little time to reflect on your own needs and wellbeing. Counselling offers a supportive space to explore these life transitions, process the emotional impact of parenthood, and reconnect with your sense of self. It can help you better understand your needs, strengthen coping strategies, and find balance amidst the demands of family life.

Over half the population will experience perimenopause and menopause, and the hormonal changes associated with this transition can have a significant impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing. Many people experience symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, irritability, and increased stress. Therapy can provide a supportive space to talk openly about your experiences, identify triggers, develop effective coping strategies, and better manage the emotional challenges that may arise during this stage of life.

Anxiety & Burnout

Many people find the pace and pressure of modern life overwhelming. Social media and societal expectations often encourage the pursuit of success, status, and financial gain, creating standards that can feel unattainable. This can lead to anxiety, self-doubt, and a sense of never being good enough. Therapy offers a supportive space to explore these pressures, reflect on your values, and reconnect with your own authentic ambitions. By gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, you can develop a clearer sense of purpose and make choices that feel meaningful rather than driven by external expectations.

Young Adults Mental Health

Young people today face increasing pressures as they navigate education, work, relationships, finances, and their transition into adulthood. For many, these challenges can feel overwhelming and contribute to feelings of anxiety, low mood, stress, or uncertainty about the future.

Around one in four young people aged 16–25 in the UK experience a mental health condition. Counselling provides a safe, confidential space to talk openly, make sense of difficult experiences, and feel heard without judgement.

Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, young people can develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence, helping them to build a stronger sense of self and move forward with greater clarity and hope.
